The Auroras
Where I grew up, some said the highest power is man.
Where I was raised, some said positions of authority, should exclusively be held by men.
When I was in my youth, some said the ultimate divine power is wielded by one man, who saved us from ourselves.
I often wonder if people who feel there is one “man”ager who controls spiritual power, have ever read of Eos and Aurora.
I often wonder if the believers of a binary savior, have seen the Northern Lights in action.
We were driving home from dinner one evening, well after sunset, along the shores of Lake Michigan in winter time.
We saw all of these people; they had suddenly + haphazardly pulled over to the side of the road.
We feared the worst.
Upon stepping out of our car on that freezing-cold night, we viewed a miracle.
The colorful dance above that is a result of solar winds interlacing with Earth’s magnetosphere.
I wonder how some can hold on so tightly to the illusions of control organized spirituality relies upon.
I wonder to myself, “they must not have seen this magical sky-dance firsthand”?
For to witness the Auroras, is to stand in harmony with the human experience.
It is to be moved to a new dimension.
The location of which, is a momentary place of residence in our minds; one where for a few, brief, synapse-firing seconds, you are confident in every fiber of your being, that we are but tiny specks in this vast, infinite expanse we call the Universe.
I don’t want religion, for I have cosmic spirituality.
I don’t need a church, for I have the night sky.
I don’t need your permission to: be whom I am, to love who I love, to exist in peace and light.
I would never disrespect your rights to practice and live your truth, so long as doing so does not cost others their safety, dignity, or respect.
All I am asking in return, is the same… courtesy.
We are all made of star stuff.
We return from whence we came.
