Fancy (a) Shower
Lil’bud came home from school yesterday sounding congested, and by bedtime was a full blown drip machine. Covid test negative and fever free in the am, it was off to school we went, but I was already thinking of ways to help create a soft landing upon return home. I remember dreading going to school on days when all I wanted to do was stay in my pajamas and drink warm liquids brought in to my room by people who loved me. So! While I was out running some errands, I noticed bundles of eucalyptus branches being sold for $4 and I was like, fancy spa shower here we come!
I know it’s a little nuts because we live in San Francisco, surrrrrrrounded by eucalyptus trees. I mean, if I wanted I could have gathered up some bowls of leaves from one of the ample parks, but these were cute branches that helped me envision how relaxing life would be all because we now had some outside tree bits, inside. No pressure on the branches… right ;)
I split the bundle in two, and did one for our shower and one for our kid’s shower. Using kitchen twine and sheer will, I wound the twine throughout the branch bottoms so it wouldn’t slip, and then absolutely chucked the rest of the wound up twine between the two inch gap that exists between the eight foot high shower head arm, and the ceiling. I’m sure I looked like an asshole, but I eventually got it, and was very proud of myself. I’m looking forward to trying it out, and fingers crossed it doesn’t cause like a steam-heat eyeball reaction or skin rash, because that does not sound fancy, nor fun.
