A STORY FOR TOMORROW

As a warning, I have never made it through this video without tearing up. Not in a sad way, but in the profound-change-the-direction-of-your-life kind of way. It has taken on a new meaning for me as of late, but is no less effective in conjuring a lump my throat.

Often, during my work day, I dream of far off adventures and times when not everything was known or discovered about the world. I dream of deciding to stop, and walk in a totally different direction. This couple did just that, and made a beautiful, inspiring and disruptive video to tell you about it. Good luck, and go forth!

RHYE

I was hesitant in posting this song at first, because I had previously posted it elsewhere, but, I am officially obsessed. I am having trouble starting my day without it. I wasn’t immediately in love, but after a few listens of the entire album, it was the track I found myself starting over right as I knew it was ending.

It’s the song you wish someone had written for you. It simultaneously reminds you of your first love and the love of your life. What starts out as a flirtatious, hip-swaying melody, has you fully immersed in a torrid love affair by end.

SCENES FROM SAN FRANCISCO

We spent most of this weekend indoors working on the site, despite the picture perfect weather outside. Come Sunday afternoon we were feeling pretty loopy, and the dogs were getting that crazy look in their eyes. I took a short break…

MAFIA MEAL PART I: THE CARBS

We had been talking with our friends for months about getting together to dine on an Italian style family dinner, and to watch The Godfather. Some of us had never seen it, and we thought it would be a fun way…

WICKED GAME

As the sun starts to finally make its way out in the rest of the country, and the time change has begun to make a difference for our end-of-day commutes, I think its fair to say that spring has sprung. This time of year is when I begin to dream about what the summer will bring, and this famed Chris Isaak song conjures images of most everyone’s idea of the perfect day at the beach.

I love a good cover. A re-imagining of a song that resurrects it from the archives and helps it make its way back into your current playlists. Emika does just that. It’s like listening to the soundtrack of my dream sequence where I slowly walk through a smoky discotheque to find Helena Christensen sitting at my table.

Sauce (Four) Pi

My brain has been rapidly firing ideas these past few days, in anticipation of the dinner-and-a-movie party we are hosting this Saturday. Since we will be screening ‘The Godfather’, we decided to go all-in on an Italian theme. As we’re…

Treasure Chest

Hey good lookin’, what’s cookin’? I’ve had lots of scrumptious dishes roll through my kitchen over these last two months, but these hands have been too busy to let you know. As a result, I’m trying a new format. Short…
