What to do, what to do, with a bag of leftover lemons from our epic party weekend. When handed lemons, people normally suggest making lemonade.  But, when your sweet tooth is always whispering in your ear like mine is, pick up that citrus, and make these lemon bars instead. The perfect balance of sour and sweet filling rests atop a buttery shortbread crust, and is finished with a dusting of powdered sugar that’ll leave your taste buds humming.

An extra plus, is that a little lemon bar goes a long way in my book. While I have to be physically restrained from devouring a batch of dark chocolate brownies, I can act like a real grown up around a platter of lemon squares. Why + How? Because these little puckers pack the perfect punch.
